Acupuncture

Acupuncture treats the body in a variety of ways. Locally, the needles stimulate blood and oxygen to the area, this opens up the vessels and decreases local congestion and inflammation in the tissues, and is one of the reasons it’s so great for pain. When certain points on the body are needled this sends signals to the brain that activate certain brain cells and resets the Central Nervous System. The brain sends signals that activate our immune, blood, and lymphatic cells which starts the healing process in the entire body. After an Acupuncture session you usually leave feeling lighter, calmer, and with less pain.

Chinese Medicine

Holistic Medicine is a broad range of medical practices that are based on many years of tradition. I’m trained in a variety of holistic techniques that will surely help to heal you both mentally and physically.

Cupping

Is performed by creating a local suction on the skin. This increases blood flow in order to promote healing. The suction is created by heating the air inside the cup and quickly placing it on the patient forming an airtight seal. As the air inside the cup cools, it contracts, forming a partial vacuum and enabling the cup to suck the skin, pulling in soft tissue, and drawing blood to that area. Moving cupping is a very fluid movement of the cup across the skin to increase circulation and decrease tension and tightness in the muscles. It is most often done over the larger muscular areas of the body such as the back or upper legs or as an alternative to stationary cupping if traditional cupping marks are less desirable for the occasion.
